Expert Advisor Setup Guide

Complete guide to installing and configuring the TestedSignals EA for automated trading

VPS Required for 24/7 Trading

For uninterrupted automated trading, you need a VPS (Virtual Private Server). This ensures your EA runs continuously without interruptions from computer shutdowns or internet issues.

Prerequisites

  • MetaTrader 5 (Build 3200+)

    Download from your broker or MetaQuotes

  • Active Subscription

    You need an EA automation plan

  • VPS (Recommended)

    For 24/7 uninterrupted trading

Step 1: Download the EA

  1. Log in to your TestedSignals dashboard
  2. Navigate to the EA Download page
  3. Click the "Download" button for your strategy
  4. Save the .ex5 file to your computer

Step 2: Install in MetaTrader 5

  1. Open MetaTrader 5

    Launch your MT5 terminal

  2. Open Data Folder

    Click File → Open Data Folder

  3. Navigate to Experts

    Open MQL5 → Experts folder

  4. Copy EA File

    Copy the downloaded .ex5 file into this folder

  5. Restart MT5

    Close and reopen MetaTrader 5

  6. Enable AutoTrading

    Click the "AutoTrading" button in the toolbar (it should turn green)

Step 3: Configure WebRequest URLs

MT5 needs permission to connect to TestedSignals servers:

  1. In MT5, go to Tools → Options
  2. Click the "Expert Advisors" tab
  3. Check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL"
  4. Add these URLs (one per line):
    https://testedsignals.com
    https://www.testedsignals.com
    https://api.testedsignals.com
  5. Click "OK" and restart MT5

Step 4: Attach EA to Chart

  1. Open any chart in MT5 (symbol doesn't matter - EA works on all pairs)
  2. In the Navigator panel (Ctrl+N), expand "Expert Advisors"
  3. Find "TestedSignals" EA
  4. Drag and drop it onto your chart
  5. A settings dialog will appear - click "OK" (we'll configure it next)

Step 5: Configure with Your API Key

  1. Go to your EA Dashboard
  2. Register your MT5 account number
  3. Copy your unique API key
  4. In MT5, right-click the EA on the chart → "Expert Advisors" → "Properties"
  5. Go to the "Inputs" tab
  6. Paste your API key in the EA_Key field
  7. Configure other settings as needed:
    • • LotSize: Position size (0.01 = micro lot)
    • • RiskPercent: Risk per trade (1-5% recommended)
    • • MaxSpread: Maximum allowed spread in points
  8. Click "OK"

✅ Verify Installation

Your EA is working correctly if you see:

  • Smiley face icon in the top-right corner of the chart
  • "Connected to TestedSignals" message in the Experts tab
  • No error messages in the Journal tab

🔧 Troubleshooting

❌ "WebRequest not allowed"

→ Add testedsignals.com URLs in MT5 Options → Expert Advisors → WebRequest

❌ "Invalid API Key"

→ Check your EA dashboard and copy the correct key. Make sure there are no spaces.

❌ "Account not registered"

→ Register your MT5 account number in the EA dashboard first

❌ Sad face icon

→ Check the Experts tab for error messages. Usually means AutoTrading is disabled or EA inputs are incorrect.
